Why so many posts are titled so?Here are the 10 reasons why so many posts have a headline like this:1. Because they are fashion.2. because they are easier to understand and not have to do too much effort to understand them.3. Because so saturated with information, we like to give us things tidy.4. Because they are fa ster to write.5. For us to recover write long texts to give this format and make them seem new.6. Because they are much more marketininianos, from the head to the body of the article.7. Because shared, retweeted and “like” more.8. Because it is not necessary to be able to write very complex sentences or be a teacher of literature to them.9. Because they make the reader believe that they are dogmas of faith and there is neither more nor less. If you are “The six things you should not forget when …”, you know that there are not five or seven. There are six. And point. In fact, the seventh is so far below the level of the other six do not even worth quoting.10. And the more match, the more I shall come in my prediction. These are “The five reasons why you will read this article”:1. Because it has impacted the holderHalf amazing half hedonist. It’s simple but it attracts. Often, a striking picture before starting to read a single line causes us to stop in an article.ConclusionWith this post I have not attempted to prove anything other than the great importance of striking a headline (and an accompanying image) when you publish a new article. Often I find posts incredibly deep and valuable in that the author has not stopped to think that the gateway to the content is its title, so that they have been quite unnoticed. And on the contrary, very weak items whose owner is very impressive and have received traffic retweets , “like” and general acceptance that is not commensurate with the quality of content. If we want our writing work in Social Media Marketing, we have to give that touch marketiniano to really engage and not just think that by posting on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and all social networks in the world people will interest. The Country Of Immigrants Rescuing Syrian Refugees

The Country of Immigrants: Rescuing Syrian Refugees A refugee is defined as â€Å"someone who has been forced to leave a country because of war or for religious or political reasons† in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary (n.d.). Millions of people have been escaping the Islamic State and the Assad government since the beginning of the Syrian Civil War. They have been searching for asylum in European countries (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, 2015), such as Germany, Turkey, and elsewhere. President Obama has recently decided to resettle at least 10,000 Syrian refugees in the United States within the next year (The White House, 2015). In March of 2011, BBC News reported that Syrian authorities arrested and tortured teenagers for vandalising a school wall with revolutionary propaganda, which soon led to pro-democracy protests. These protests were interrupted by security forces that opened fire on the protesters and killed several. Soon the political unrest trig gered demands for President Assad’s resignation. The government used force to stop the protests, but this only ensured more anger from the demonstrators. This was the beginning of the brutal war that is still occurring today. The violence escalated tremendously and has caused over 250,000 deaths as of August 2015 (Asare, Gritten, Offer, Rodgers, 2015). Asare et al. Music Class Under The Instruction And Supervision Of Mr....

We learned several things in Music class under the instruction and supervision of Mr. Gonzales. We started in a timeline beginning at the very first instrument ever, the heart. The heart was the very first â€Å"beat† and clave was formed based on this â€Å"beat†. Clave is the foundation of almost every Latin song and most songs found around the world. Developed in Africa as one the earliest beats, clave was played on one of the first instruments, the Bongo drums. All drums are based after this drum which is still widely used in Africa for celebrations among tribes. The Bongo drums were made, originally, from wood and cowhide. Another ancient instrument was the Timbales (drums) which were made of brass and cow hide. Drums, now, are made of†¦show more content†¦The gong is another percussion instrument that is a type of cymbal and is untuned. Maracas are also a percussion instruments because sound is made by shaking them and are untuned, as well. The voice can also be a percussion through beat-boxing, making noise that resembles that of drums and other instruments. There are also many string instruments. The Clavichord instrument is one of the oldest string instruments and is only capable of producing a small sound. The ones used, mainly, in an orchestra are as follow: Violin (fiddle), Viola, Cello, and the Double Bass. A violin can also be called a fiddle as it is usually called in folk music. The viola is a fretless instrument and, thus, harder to play. Other popular string instruments are the acoustic guitar whose origin dates back thousands of years in Greek, Sanskrit, and Arabic cultures. Some examples of guitar-like instruments are the Dotar (two strings), the Setar (three strings), the Qithara (four strings), the Panchtar (five strings), and the Tamber, which is the ancestor of the modern day guitar. Acoustic instruments don’t generally have a need for amplification and is not electric. The very first guitars consisted of six strings. Antonio Torres’ new construction music paved the way for modern day guitars. Strings on guitars can, either, be made of steel or nylon. Steel strings are louder and more durable than nylon, and are also more

Charles Busch some kind of diva Essay Example For Students

Charles Busch: some kind of diva Essay Innocence isnt something youd expect to be thinking about if you were to find yourself sitting amidst the opulent fin-desiecle passementerie that fills the sitting room of New Yorks best-loved theatrical drag performer, chatting about his recent experience playing the female lead in The Maids, Jean Genets transvestite drama of madness, envy and murder. Yet theres something disarmingly unguarded, something waiflike, about Charles Busch. At first, it takes you by surprise. When youve seen him sprawled across the velvet throws that cover a sofa in his Greenwich Village apartment, though, it gets easier to sense in the adult Busch a lithe, slight figure with corn-fed looks and a precocious adolescents rapidfire delivery a ghost of the awestruck eight-year-old who was taken by his father to the old Metropolitan Opera house to see Joan Sutherland perform. The theatre itself, the gilt on the ceiling Id never seen anything more fantastic, Busch recalls some 30 years later. And then there she was, with this red hair and this pale green dress. Just huge. He pauses. Ive been recreating that ever since. Outline1 Fiendish cross-fertilization  2 Stolen hairstyles  3 Mistresses of melodrama   Fiendish cross-fertilization   As anyone whos been keeping up with Off-Broadway theatre for the past decade or so knows, those re-creations have taken the form of the benzedrinelaced send-ups of Hollywood and Broadway leading-lady vehicles that have made Busch famous. In them, you sense that precocious child at work. Like fiendish theatrical cross-fertilizations dreamt up by some star-struck high school chemistry whiz, the vehicles that Busch has created for himself are gleefully loony hybrids. They remind you of the screenplays being pitched by those desperate writers the beginning of Robert Altmans The Player. Buschs The Lady in Question? Its Watch on the Rhine meets The Sound of Music. Psycho Beach Party? Try Gidget meets The Three Faces of Eve meets Mommie Dearest. Yet if the mere titles of drag parodies like Vampire Lesbians of Sodom or Theodora, She-Bitch of Byzantium (not to mention Buschs recent first novel, Whores of Lost Atlantis) hint at preoccupations that are anything but kid stuff, Buschs over-the-top sensibility is clearly part of a coherent artistic vision that stems from his indelible first impression of the theatre. Now, that vision is taking Busch ever further from the satiric vehicles that made his reputation. Projects like The Maids demonstrate the actor-playwrights growing willingness to explore new theatrical avenues, as he examines all of the possibilities not merely the comic inherent in drag. The memory of that first trip to the opera evidently lingered in Buschs creative imagination. The leading role in nearly all of his plays is, in fact, some kind of diva: a movie queen, a concert pianist, a cabaret chanteuse. As a result, each performance, no matter how hilarious the particulars, is ultimately about performance. Even if Busch didnt tell you that the Pirandellian notion he had in mind when he first started writing roles for himself was that hed be just this grande dame actress appearing in a play that she didnt quite approve of, itd be hard not to sense in the artful staginess of Buschs performances that he was playing an actress whos playing well, whatever. Stolen hairstyles   The thing that allows Busch to get away with this metatheatrical conceit (Busch has appropriated the term from a recent NYU dissertation about his plays, and he uses it with the proprietary pleasure you associate with the owners of new appliances) is his remarkably thorough knowledge of film and theatre history, coupled with an uncanny knack for verbal and visual mimicry. Busch recalls being accosted by one fan who, he says, recognized every hairstyle in Lady in Question and what movie I stole it from. And, he adds with a yelp, he was right! When Irish OFlanagan, the hard-boiled nightclub singer who gets a Wonderful Life-esque chance at redemption in Times Square Angel, grits her teeth and talks about menthe shelf-life of a dames good looks is shortah than a can of chili, she growlsyou can practically count how many times shes been around the block. For Busch, theres nothing wrong with blurring the line between parody and straight performance. Even within a parody play, he observes, there are so many things you can do. You can have moments of tenderness; you can have moments of romance; you can have genuine suspense. Why waste that going for a vulgar laugh? Easy laughs are something Busch himself has increasingly avoided. He was especially pleased with Lady, a melodramatic thriller to which some audiences reacted with real emotion. And in Red Scare on Sunset, he gave his 50s-movie-queen heroine Mary Dale and her best gal-pal, radio hostess Pat Pilford, a moral ambiguity some found disturbing. (The play ends with Mary naming names to Congress, after a brush with conniving commies who were as bad as their right-wing adversaries.) Busch dismisses as humorless those who found Red Scare to be anti-left. Indeed, his P.C. critics seem to have missed the fact that, typically for Busch, Red Scare is preoccupied more with the theatre and its conventions than it is with politics. Im not a political satirist at all, Busch readily admits. Its not my sense of humor. Its no accident that the front used by the evil reds is a Method workshopa device that allows Busch to take regular swipes at the thespian pretensions that threaten his own more 19th-cent ury aesthetic. I cant wait to roll up my sleeves and go to work, cries one of Red Scares Brandowannabes. I have so many demons needing to be released! Mistresses of melodrama   One of Buschs own demons is a gnawing sense that grinding out spoofs of the silver screen wont satisfy him forever. That fear of artistic emptiness is what led him to Genet. Director David Esbjornsons vision of The Maids as a contemporary fantasy of homeless people, drug addicts and pimps, is a far cry from the crinolines and divans that clutter Buschs own dramas. But Busch wanted the challenge of something new. Thats why, when offered his pick of Genets three leads in the production at New Yorks Classic Stage Company, he settled on Solange the harder, more grounded of the two maids. He wanted to experiment with paring down his usual gestures (the body language of the diva) to suit Solanges proportions. I didnt want to do the grande dame sort of thing, he says, when asked why he didnt choose to play either the flashy Madame or the delusional Claire, Genets answer to Blanche DuBois. Busch is disarmingly frank when describing what he felt were his shortcomings at the beginning of the Genet run. The experiment with naturalistic acting, he ventures, may have gone a bit too much against his Bernhardtesque grain. It was not my old self, he says flatly. As a result, he found himself during rehearsals doing weird, self-conscious things, like breaking up his lines in mid-sentence. (Sandy Dennis-ish, he quips, without the fun.) Busch didnt begin to feel that he had a handle on Solange until he finally followed Esbjornsons advice to do what he does best that is, to get metatheatricalto be Glenda Jackson; be Faye Dunaway as Solange, as Esbjornson would urge him. .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 , .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 .postImageUrl , .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 , .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23:hover , .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23:visited , .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23:active { border:0!important; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23:active , .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23 .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u0e58fd6985ca736cc462511499fe3c23:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Oliver Twist - Board Scene EssayThe Maids run sharpened Buschs sense that his strong suit is for the larger-than-life roles suited to his modelsmistresses of melodrama like Bernhardt, a special favorite. Everything You Wanted To Know About Wikipedia Stuff You Never Thought To Ask - The Writers For Hire

EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT WIKIPEDIA, PART 1 Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Wikipedia (and probably some stuff you never thought to ask), Part 1 Wikipedia has become a standard, go-to resource for all kinds of facts: Want to know everything there is to know about the giant squid? Need a list of every Nobel Prize winner, organized by country? Interested in the history of Microsoft? Ever wondered about the difference between East Coast and West Coast hip-hop? Wikipedia is a great example of the awesome things that can happen when people get together and pool their knowledge and expertise. Anyone with a laptop and an Internet connection can contribute to Wikipedia. But this doesn’t mean Wikipedia is a free-for-all. Yes, anyone can contribute a new article or edit an existing one but if you want your contribution to â€Å"stick,† you’ve got to follow a ton of rules regarding content, sources, neutrality, and notability. So, what makes a â€Å"good† Wikipedia article? Does your product, service, or company belong on Wikipedia? What happens if your article gets flagged? And what does â€Å"flagged† mean, anyway? Wiki can be complicated (and even a little intimidating) to the uninitiated. That’s why we’ve decided to do a series of blog posts exploring the ins and outs and rules of Wikipedia. This week, we’re kicking off the series with a few of the basics. First things First: What is Wikipedia? Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia – but what does that mean? Here’s a good definition, from Wikipedia itself: Basically, everything you need to know about Wikipedia is in the above sentence: Wikipedia is â€Å"neutral.† In other words, it doesn’t represent one single viewpoint on any subject. Wikipedia contains â€Å"verifiable, established facts.† As in, facts that have been published by an uninterested and reliable third party. Facts that you can verify by checking a couple of sources, such as (reputable) newspaper or magazine articles. We’ll take a more in-depth look at both neutrality and sources in future posts. But right now, let’s just focus on the big picture. So, now that we know what Wikipedia is, let’s take a second to discuss what Wikipedia isn’t. And there are a whole lot of things that Wikipedia isn’t. In fact there’s a whole page on Wikipedia dedicated to this topic, and it’s pretty long. Essentially, though, it boils down to this: Wikipedia is not a blog/fansite/personal website. So you can’t write in first-person, and you can’t write whatever you want. It’s not a place for ranting about politics or enthusing about your favorite movie or TV show. That’s not to say that your favorite TV show doesn’t deserve a Wikipedia page. It probably does. But it still has to conform to Wikipedia’s standards. In other words, like this: Not this: Wikipedia is not a place to publish your original research/inventions/discoveries. Let’s say you just discovered a new planet or invented a super-cool new iPhone app. This is fantastic – but it’s not Wiki-appropriate. Because Wikipedia is a place for â€Å"established† facts, it’s not a place for your original work or research . . . yet. (We say â€Å"yet† because if an established, third-party publication like Newsweek or the Wall Street Journal writes an article about you and your new planet/iPhone app, you might actually be Wiki-eligible. But more on that later.) Wikipedia is not a place for advertisements/self-promotion. Again, we’ll get much more in-depth with this later, but when writing about a company, product, or service you have to be extra-careful not to sound biased. Wiki pages that sound like they were written by a company’s PR department quickly get flagged for neutrality/conflict-of-interest issues, which looks like this: That doesn’t mean that your product, service, or company doesn’t belong on Wikipedia. It just means that, if you want your Wiki page to â€Å"stick,† you have to follow the rules. Wikipedia, The Writers For Hire, and You (or Your Company/Product/Service) We’ve created dozens of Wikipedia articles for clients on a wide range of topics. And we’ve got an excellent track record. And that’s because we turn down more Wiki projects than we accept. It’s not that we don’t want your business. We do. But we don’t want to take your money if we know that your page won’t stick. Before we accept any Wikipedia project, we make sure your topic is eligible for a Wiki page. To be eligible, a topic must meet two major criteria: It needs to be notable, and it needs to have received significant coverage by neutral, reputable third-party sources. We’ll get more into both of these as we continue our Wikipedia series. Stay tuned! Coming up next: Notability.

Why does John reject the civilization represented in Brave New World Research Paper Example

Why does John reject the civilization represented in Brave New World Research Paper Example Why does John reject the civilization represented in Brave New World Paper Why does John reject the civilization represented in Brave New World Paper Essay Topic: Back in the World Stories Brave New World Literature John comes from an Indian reservation in New Mexico, and goes to the Brave New world with Bernard Marx who was about to be sent away from there because he was different. Bernard and Lenina brought John because they knew that John was the son of the Director of Hatcheries and Conditioning with Linda. This would humiliate the Directory because having viviparous babies in the Brave New World was seen as disgusting, and no one would ever imagine that the director could have had one himself. John was not accepted in the savage reservation because his mother slept with many men, this was seen as an absurd, but in the Brave New World it was not, Every one belongs to everyone else; having sex with many different people was a moral duty. John was fascinated by the prospect of going to the Brave New World because his mother told him that in the Brave New World people never had problems, because even if they had they would take a drug called Soma, which would make them take a holiday from reality and forget all about them. He was also told about how people travelled by helicopter and he thought that they could really fly. He learned how to read and right superficially, how everything is clean and that no one marries, that there are no nasty smells, that there were boxes where you could see and hear what was happening at the other side of the world and that babies were born in lovely clean bottles He thought that The Other Place was a perfect world, The happiest times were when she told him about the Other Place, such as in Shakespeares stories, which he had read and loved. Unfortunately John had too many high expectations, which were all let down. John had heard so much about the Brave New World, that he was unimpressed when he was taken the Charing T tower and saw the weather department captive balloon. He found it nice, Still, Ariel could put a girdle around the earth in forty minutes, but nothing compared to the greater things he had read about which were done in plays. One of the reasons why John rejected the Brave New World was because of his background. John came from two different places, one of which his mother creates for him; where there are civilized people and modern technology; and the world of the savages where he is considered an outcast and she a whore. John rejects the simplicity of the Brave New World, because things were not as in the Shakespeares stories which he had read, they were much easier. He thinks that without suffering there can be no triumph and with out going through the pain and hardship of a task there can be no proper taste of conquering. John did not like that everything in the Brave New World was not expensive enough, and that everything is conveyed easily for them. He hated the fact that the people valued nothing such as in the Shakespeares stories. John finds the people of the civilized world ridiculous because of the easy way of their life, and despises the fact that they take the drug soma and do not notice that the world has enslaved them all, that horrible film it was ignoble; this is why when he goes to the feelies with Lenina, he hates it and returns home. Huxley makes apparent in his writing that the civilized world is a failure and a disgrace to all man kind. He shows us this by his choice of vocabulary to describe some adults playing a foolish game, and uses the word maggots to explain his views, The green was maggoty with fore-shortened life. He could have used any other word such as an ant, but he does not, because he wants us to think the Brave New World is a bad place. Maggots are revolting creatures that feed on rotting flesh and turn into flies. It was obvious that John was different to the people of the civilized world, Im claiming the right to be happy, people started to make fun of his way of being, so he escapes to a lighthouse. People want him to whip them. He tries to make them go away but it becomes an orgy porgy, which he joins in. He was so disgusted by what the Brave New World did to him that he consequently hanged himself.

NUTRITION AND DENTAL HYGIENE IN THE ELDERLY Essay

NUTRITION AND DENTAL HYGIENE IN THE ELDERLY - Essay Example Efforts to help them independently brush can be made by strapping their toothbrush on their hand with a wide elastic band; enlarging brush handles by taping it to a sponge; and lengthening the handle of toothbrushes through tongue depressors. Automatic flossers can be used to help them floss; or while flossing their teeth for them, music can be played or the TV can be turned off to provide some distraction (Paterson, 2000). For those with dentures, their gums and the roofs of their mouths must be gently brushed with toothpaste for the removal of plaque and for the stimulation of gums; their dentures must be cleaned daily and all residues of food removed (Paterson, 2000). In order to improve the oral health of the elderly, a nutritional assessment must first be carried out in order to determine the patient’s diet and determine if he is taking in the proper foods to remain healthy. The patient’s daily water intake must also be evaluated. The goal for the patient is for hi m to receive and achieve an energy intake of from 30 to 40kcal/kg/day and a protein intake 1.2 to 1.5 g protein/kg/day (Haute Autorite de Sante, 2007). Code of Ethics - Essay Example To attain continuous patronage from our customers, the supermarket has to meet the level of expectations of our customers. One of the more critical elements required to improve the services of a Supermarket is to implement a set of code of ethics which will be adhered to by all personnel group from top to bottom. What is this set of code of ethics? A Code of ethics is a set of standard rules, procedures, guidelines and policies disseminated, understood and imposed by top management to all the people who work at the Supermarket. They are all to comply with this code of ethics. These are standard policies and standard procedures that will â€Å"guide the organization to steer conduct, both for the organization itself and its employees, in all their internal and external business activities† (Code of Ethics, 2005). This is healthy in the system of any organization as it would â€Å"signal to the suppliers, patrons, bankers, traders, government, among others the supermarket's exp ectation from them and vice versa. This would also be a good strategy to enhance the supermarket’s reputation and achieve excellent culture that would strengthen public confidence in the organization† (Code of Business Ethics, 2010). Finally, the monitoring of operations, security and accountability become more effective with the adoption of a code of ethics.

Proposal for Inventory System Essay Example for Free

Proposal for Inventory System Essay In today’s global world, access to basic and quality healthcare is crucial and imperative in order to have a good and healthy life. In view of this, access to quality and affordable drugs is a basic raw material in enhancing good and quality healthcare. It is therefore necessary and important to ensure that patients can easily get access to quality, un-expired and affordable drugs for the treatment of their diseases and sicknesses. Most importantly the efficiency with which these services are carried out can go a long way to save lives and improve upon the health status of individuals. Medisol Pharmaceutical Company Limited is a private retail pharmaceutical company established in Ghana and their main focus is to regularly sell pharmaceuticals, skin care products, baby care products and cosmetics to its customers. The company makes continuous efforts to maximize client’s satisfaction by providing good customer service and also segmenting their market so as to enable customers have easy access to their sales outlets. The company has its head office at Kanda and two other branches at west legon and kasowa respectively with their main target groups being the general public. Medisol Pharmaceutical Company ltd. has two major departments namely the Finance/Administrative Department and the Retail Department which are directly under the supervision of the CEO. The company has numerical staff strength of five (5) comprising of a CEO, a superintendent pharmacist, pharmacist, an accountant and a medicine counter assistant. Below is an organogram of Medisol Pharmaceutical company ltd. The Finance/Administrative department which is headed by the accountant handles mainly the financial and administrative tasks of the company. The company’s Retail Department serves as a liaison between Medisol and its customers and is headed by the Medicine Counter Assistant. The main responsibilities of this department are to manage the retail stock, sell items to customers and submit weekly reports to the CEO. Medisol’s operations are solely manual; as our team got to the company we were privileged to speak to the head of the retail department who explained thoroughly to us how the manual process takes place. The process starts with stock purchase where the medicine counter assistant makes a list of all needed items to be bought. This list is sent to their wholesalers for delivery of the items. Upon delivery, the items are crossed checked with the order list made and a sales invoice is then given to Medisol which is then filed in a purchasing file. Items to be sold are arranged on shelves with price tags on each item. Details of items sold are recorded in a sales book. Retail stocks are taken three times in a month and the process used is as follows; -Drugs on the shelves are counted and the quantity is crossed checked with the sales invoice kept in the purchase file(which shows quantity of items bought ), this is done to know the quantity of items sold -The quantity of sold items is then crossed checked from the sales books to further check if the items were really sold, expired or stolen. This process helps them to know how much items have been sold, how much stock is left and also determine whether to make an order or not. Medisol also has a special way of identifying expired drugs so that they won’t be sold to customers, with this the medicine counter assistant prepares a manual list of drugs whose expiry date falls within a particular year hence every six months this list is checked for drugs which have their expiry dates closer or already expired. Those almost about to expire are sold faster while those already expired are cleared from the shelves and discarded. In today’s world it is impossible to compete in the job market without a working knowledge of IT. It is therefore imperative that Medisol Pharmaceutical Company Limited implement and invest into good inventory control management system that have the ability to track, report and replenish stock. This will then improve accuracy and enhance safety and efficiency thereby helping the resale department decrease stock errors. This solution is intended to help the department to manage all transactions of received stocks, price, quantity and invoice. Security of this system will be enhanced, making it impossible for items to be misplaced or stolen. The benefits of the computerized inventory control system to Medisol Pharmaceutical Company ltd. is to make inventory decisions that minimize the total cost of inventory, which is distinctly different from minimizing inventory. It is often more expensive to run out of an item (and thus be forced to obtain it through more expensive channels) than simply to keep more units in stock. Several models have been proposed in the literature for minimizing the total cost of inventory through the use of an economic order quantity, which attempts to balance the carrying costs of inventory with the cost of running out of an item. Most pharmacy inventory decisions involve replenishmenthow much to order, when to decide to order, and when to place the order.

Communism and Mise-en-Scene Technique in the Film Yellow Earth Essay

Communism and Mise-en-Scene Technique in the Film Yellow Earth As one of the earliest films to come out of communist China’s new film schools in the 1980s, director Chen Kaige’s Yellow Earth reveals much about the Chinese communist party’s interpretation of the years before 1949 (the year of the Communist victory in China). Yellow Earth takes on the appearance of Communist propaganda films as the plot and themes develop. The minimalist mise-en-scene technique effectively illustrates the activities and rituals of daily rural Chinese life throughout the film. Nowhere in the film is the effectiveness of this technique more apparent than in the final scene when Han-Han struggles against the crowd to return to Gu. Many of the scenes in Yellow Earth feature long takes that fully illustrate the true passage of time. For instance, characters are often shown walking across the hills and fields from one location to another. Rather than cut these scenes and imply the length of the journey, Kaige leaves the scenes intact, allowing the viewer to fully grasp the vast expanse of space and t...

A Samurai and a Ninja

The warriors of the pre-industrial Japanese era always aroused the interest of many people around the world. Of all the warrior classes on those feudal times, there are two types of warriors that are known all over the world: the honorable samurai and the stealthy ninja. Most of the people though, do not know the distinction between a samurai and a ninja. And before knowing the comparison and contrast between these two warrior classes, we need to know just how they live.Samurais or what the Japanese call a bushi is a warrior that follows a strict moral code called bushido. They are noble warriors that place honor above anything they have, including their lives. They are the rough equivalent of medieval England's knights. As stated, the samurai follow the bushido as their moral code. Bushido is a belief on the path of a warrior, or a path of the sword. This means that samurai warriors place honor above anything, and would be loyal to their lords at any time, as they would die in the lin e of duty rather than shame themselves. This warrior class also practices Harakiri or Seppuku, a type of suicide that a dishonorable samurai would take in order to regain their lost honor after death. Samurais wear armor, and are of noble class; although the early foundations of the samurai class were originally farming clans who just wanted to protect their family from invasions of bandits and corrupt officials. Samurai warriors prefer the use of the Japanese katana and a wakizashi as weapons.A katana is a curved sword while the wakizashi is a short sword used together with a katana. These two weapons represent a samurai's honor, as a samurai uses the wakizashi to end his life if ever he had done something dishonorable. Some samurai learned to use guns much later on.Samurai are mostly straight-laced warriors that would face danger head on, just to show honor in their work. This quite contradicts the way ninjas do their work.Ninjas are the masters of stealth in the pre-industrial per iods of Japan. They prefer stealth than actual confrontation with the enemies. Like the samurai, ninjas follow a certain lord, but unlike the former, ninjas are manipulated for different reasons. Ninjas are trained by their clan in â€Å"ways of the shadow†.This means that ninjas are perfect for espionage and assassinations. When it comes to fighting, ninjas rely on agile, quick strikes to immobilize or kill opponents. They also use shuriken as throwing agents, often covered in poison to maximize their effect.Ninjas have not been regarded as a warrior class in their early days, and ninjutsu (ninja techniques) were not always considered an art. The services of a ninja were also like that of a mercenary, rather than the honorable services offered by the loyal samurai. In the early foundations of the ninja class, they are farmers or specially trained individuals trained to counter the ruling samurai elites. They are their direct counterparts, since the samurai Bushido code do not permit the use of stealth and guerilla tactics that the ninja class most commonly use for assassinations.[1]To summarize everything, ninjas and samurai are the same in terms of the fact that they follow a feudal lord.
